Just wanted to share a little vignette from my kitchen.  I think this area is lovely.  Of course, its the milk glass stand that makes it.  We usually keep a loaf of bread inside.  There are still two rooms in our house that we have barely touched.  The kitchen is one of them.  We haven’t even painted in there!  That is our goal for this year – to redo our kitchen.  So by mid summer you hopefully wont see mustard walls and laminate countertops anymore!  We are planning on marble tile backsplash and a corian countertop.  I’ll have to remember to take before and afters!

Don’t forget to be prepared for your holiday cards!  Book your holiday mini session soon so that your holiday cards will be back and ready to mail out in time!

Take a look at this sweet pineapple upside down cake!  Guess who made it.  ME!!  And it was sooo yummy.  This is actually from my husbands birthday in July.  I am not an icing person so I was more than pleased when the husband requested I make this cake for him.  I was just stumbling through some of my personal pictures and thought I’d share this one with you guys!

I need some help, please!  I’m going to lay out a little scenario for you.  Say you bought a wedding magazine and flipped to the local resources section -hey you ARE looking for vendors right?!  All of the vendors have one picture with their description.  A few of them just POP out at you and grab your attention!  Ahhh, those are the vendors you go with.  Which of these two pictures do you think would POP out at you in that scenario? A or B?

So, this is my March self portrait.  Posted a little late, but it was shot in March!  I say that counts.  Some days have been warm enough for us to open all of the windows and let the breeze and sunshine in.  With the breeze comes the sweet floral scent of these little yellow flowers that grow alongside our front porch.  I think they are some sort of Jasmine.  I like to pick little sprigs and put them in the vintage milk glass vase on my desk.

This past weekend my mother-in-law and sister-in-law came to town and stayed with us.  Perfect time to do family portraits!  Spring is just starting and the weather was gorgeous (not to mention mothers day will be here soon =)).  We just took a stroll around downtown Athens where there are plenty of colors and nice textures to serve as an interesting backdrop, and if you’re from Athens you’ll love your hometown portraits all the more!

I know my February self portrait is a little late – but hey, its here!  I started beginners tap dancing lessons this month.  And I’m loving every minute of it!  I may not be that good at it – but I’m still having fun.  It’s something I always wanted to try but didn’t get out there and do.  I’m constantly thinking to myself that I better do what I want now because you are only young once – and I’m finally taking some action.  Here are my feet in my fabulous new tap shoes.

This glass coke bottle caught my eye.  The sunlight hitting the thick glass created this beautiful jade color.  So I captured it.

Remember when I said I was going to post a self portrait every month of 2011.  Here is my January.  I call it the January bedhead – this was taken Monday morning right after I rolled out of my hotel room bed in Chicago.  I was there for a workshop!

So, I LOVE these shots of the girls flowers!  I had to share them with you guys!  A dear friend to the brides family made the bouquets on site the day of the wedding!  They turned out beautifully!
