Soooo…I have something to share.  I have been working on a Jacquelyn Jackson Photography overhaul!  Pretty soon we will have a new site and new logo that better suits my aesthetic – but same great photography!  I already took some new pictures of myself to go on the new “ingredients” page on the site, in fact they are already posted on my old site!  So head on over and take a peek and go ahead and read the section while you’re at it too!

Organic Photography With A Southern Accent!

No, not Christmas- HALLOWEEN!  I hope all of you had a very Happy Halloween with many treats and nary a trick.  I myself love Halloween and everything about it – costumes, scares, haunted houses, pumpkins, horror movies.  You name it!  We dressed up and went to a little get together some of our friends hosted.  Our night involved broccoli cheddar soup, Harry Potter Scene It, and Teen Wolf!  Here is a peek at our costumes!

I was a Lost Boy.  Obviously not of the Peter Pan variety – but of the Kiefer Sutherland 80′s vampire movie variety.  He was one Dapper Gentleman!

I was quite proud of my vampire makeup.

I LOVE textures!  Give me an old worn barn, a rusty metal staircase, or a gritty brick wall anytime over a studio backdrop!  All of these things add so much visual interest to your photographs!  AND it is so fun to get out there and explore to find these settings!

This door is in my own backyard – on our shed!  Anytime I want to have a photograph of me or my husband for whatever reason, we just go to the backyard in front of this door oftentimes.  In fact, the new picture of myself in the “Ingredients” section on the site is right here in front of this door!

Here are some images from my cotton field couple (and their puppy)- as promised!  I am sooo pleased with these.  We started off with a few in their home – their first house!- and then moved on to the cotton field.  Soooo, here they are!

I am so far behind on blogging!  This summer I did some portraits of  this little cutie whose nickname is “Bing Bing”.  I did these portraits in about fifteen minutes while on my family vacation in Gulf Shores.  That is how long I got before Bing Bing had a total meltdown, but sometimes that is all you need!  She loved looking at pictures of herself on my camera screen – the little ham!

Cutest sassy baby expressions!

Striking a pose all on her own!

Living Doll no?

Do you guys hear that?  I think its…..Sleigh Bells?!  Wait, you don’t hear it?  Well, I guess we do have a few months!  But it IS time to book your Holiday Portrait Session!  We want to be sure that you have your holiday cards in time to mail out – so we are only doing these sessions September through November.  We are already booking, so contact us before we are full up!

In the not too distant future I will be photographing a couple who are interested in having a berry picking session!  I went out scouting and found this little place – G&N Berry Farm!  They have bee hives and honey too!  I think its pretty?  Now to post these pictures and find out if they do too!

We are so excited for the beginning of summer!  To celebrate we wanted to run a little promotion for you engaged couples!  Any couple who books with us in the month of May will receive 20% off of the package of their choosing!

Hope some of you guys can take advantage of the promotion!

XOXO – Jackie

I don’t know about you guys, but I am SUPER picky about……my hairdressers.  It isn’t easy for a hairdresser to get my full trust.  When I first moved to the area I tried a few different places out – not really liking any of them – until I landed on Shaneons Downtown Beauty Lounge off the square in Downtown Athens.  I LOVE her and I know that this is where I’ll keep going!  She is the first hair dresser I’ve had that I truly loved since Ms. Sally was cutting my hair when I was in middle school.

She cut my hair today!  I brought my camera along and captured a few shots of her shop.  Shaneons Downtown Beauty Lounge has a laid back atmosphere of vintage barber shop and quirky southern charm – and she plays awesome music while she’s working!  You should definitely go visit Shaneon in downtown Athens!
