I wanted to share some more images from my “Winter Wear” shoots!  I love winter portrait sessions!  Heck, they might even be my favorite.  There are so many more styling and layering possibilities with warm colors, chunky sweaters, fun scarves and hats to add interest to your outfit!  There is something beautiful about winter light too.  We don’t get the harsh sunlight which leaves us with a dreamy haze.  See for yourself!

If you love this look we still have the rest of the month to try to squeeze in a winter session!  Just send me an email for more information!

Want to know one of the reasons to follow Jacquelyn Jackson Photography on Facebook?  Because sometimes I just might post a giveaway for facebook followers only!!!!  I recently did my first facebook promotion and if you follow me here, but not on facebook – then you totally missed out- so head on over and like my page!  Remember that week when it rained the whole time and then the weekend was bright and pretty and COOOLLLLD!!  I didn’t have ANY sessions booked that weekend and it was so pretty and cold out that I really wanted to photograph some young ones in their most awesome scarves and hats –  WINTERWEAR!  I gave away a free session including edited images and high resolution disc to the first person who responded that was eligible, and to the second person who responded a free mini session with major discounts on products.

That weekend I ended up photographing a pair of cousins!  They were GREAT models and I think we had a lot of fun around Athens.

Here are just a few sneak peeks!

After my last post I had some emails and facebook comments about the iPad covers!  When you decide to order one you can look through my designs – things like patterns and words CAN be changed.  For instance – if there is a date on what you see and you would rather it say a name – I can totally do that!  They are a great way to protect your iPad and show off yourself or your family at the same time!  We also have the iPhone cases to match or coordinate!

I SO enjoy spending my days with clients and hearing all the different stories that make up their lives – love stories, funny family stories, proposal stories.  And being able to create images that they want to share with others gives me such pleasure!

My clients often want to showcase their images to others so I do offer some wonderful showcase pieces.  Of course, we have prints of all sizes to be matted and framed, canvas, metal murals, ipad/iphone covers and custom designed albums, books, invitations, and save the dates!  Those are the most ordered items, but if there is something specific that is not on our product guide, I can usually have that made also!

There is nothing I love more than to walk into a clients home and see images from our last session adorning their walls!

I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous couples wedding a few years ago – and they just had their first baby!  One of the most awesome things about being in this business is being able to watch a family grow.  It was so nice to be in on their adorable maternity portraits – and then be able to photograph the little one when she arrived too!

Here are a couple from their wedding.

And quite a few from their maternity session!

And introducing little Ms.H!!!

Whenever I book a portrait session I always get asked “What should I wear?”  I always answer that you want to look like yourself, but you want to look like your best self!  Portrait sessions are the best time to go out and get your hair/makeup done – if you feel beautiful you exude beauty!  You also want to be comfortable in what you are wearing, because then you will more likely feel free to be at ease in front of the camera.  It is important to accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!  Hats, jewelry, scarves, gloves, layering.  All of these things add visual interest to your photos.

I bought myself a new cloche this holiday season and everytime I wear it I look in the mirror and think “This would be PERFECT for a session!”  The feathers bring texture AND pops of color.  I thought I’d share an image with you – I wore it today and took some shots!

Its tiiiime!  Time to start booking your senior portrait session if you haven’t already!  Here at Jacquelyn Jackson Photography, we are starting a senior model program!  We are accepting applications from seniors in the Athens, Madison, and Huntsville areas!  Take a peek at our flyer below and email us to apply.  And if you aren’t going to be a senior – but know someone who will be – pass it along!
