Last month the American Meteorological Society held their big annual meeting in NEW ORLEANS! I love New Orleans, it is only a couple of hours away from ye olde hometown and I was so excited to be there – oh and to use my new lightsphere to photograph an event! I photographed the reception held by University of Alabama Huntsvilles Department of Atmospheric Science. There were a lot of sciencey people doin a lot of sciencey talk! I just really liked these images of the coffee from their reception hall so I thought I’d give you guys a little blog coffee!

January 16, 2012Just wanted to share a little vignette from my kitchen. I think this area is lovely. Of course, its the milk glass stand that makes it. We usually keep a loaf of bread inside. There are still two rooms in our house that we have barely touched. The kitchen is one of them. We haven’t even painted in there! That is our goal for this year – to redo our kitchen. So by mid summer you hopefully wont see mustard walls and laminate countertops anymore! We are planning on marble tile backsplash and a corian countertop. I’ll have to remember to take before and afters!

January 9, 2012This is something my husband had in his stocking this year. He is quite the cook so I figured he could incorporate it into some recipes. (which we have yet to do.)
I figured it would be good added with spice cookies, in a vinaigrette of some sort, or glaze for a salmon, maybe some sort of biscotti, you get the idea! I’m sure there are tons of recipes we could find online – but if you have any offhand feel free to share!
iPAD CASES | CUSTOM PRODUCTS | ATHENS ALABAMA PHOTOGRAPHER
January 8, 2012After my last post I had some emails and facebook comments about the iPad covers! When you decide to order one you can look through my designs – things like patterns and words CAN be changed. For instance – if there is a date on what you see and you would rather it say a name – I can totally do that! They are a great way to protect your iPad and show off yourself or your family at the same time! We also have the iPhone cases to match or coordinate!

December 3, 2011The husbands Aunts came to town this weekend and stayed with us, so we thought it would be nice to wait for them to get here to put up the tree! We put the tree up while listening to christmas tunes and baking cookies! The Aunts decided that we needed some more filler ornaments and they were going to get us some – so of course we were happy to oblige! We decorate in champagne golds and mercury glass, so we bought some small gold balls to add to the tree along with this beige textured tree skirt – very pretty additions to what we already had! I think everyone adds a couple of decorating pieces every year am I right?

November 11, 2011HOLIDAYS! | PERSONAL | ATHENS, ALABAMA PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
November 6, 2011No, not Christmas- HALLOWEEN! I hope all of you had a very Happy Halloween with many treats and nary a trick. I myself love Halloween and everything about it – costumes, scares, haunted houses, pumpkins, horror movies. You name it! We dressed up and went to a little get together some of our friends hosted. Our night involved broccoli cheddar soup, Harry Potter Scene It, and Teen Wolf! Here is a peek at our costumes!
I was a Lost Boy. Obviously not of the Peter Pan variety – but of the Kiefer Sutherland 80′s vampire movie variety. He was one Dapper Gentleman!
I was quite proud of my vampire makeup.
TEXTURE | PERSONAL | ATHENS, ALABAMA PHOTOGRAPHER
November 5, 2011I LOVE textures! Give me an old worn barn, a rusty metal staircase, or a gritty brick wall anytime over a studio backdrop! All of these things add so much visual interest to your photographs! AND it is so fun to get out there and explore to find these settings!
This door is in my own backyard – on our shed! Anytime I want to have a photograph of me or my husband for whatever reason, we just go to the backyard in front of this door oftentimes. In fact, the new picture of myself in the “Ingredients” section on the site is right here in front of this door!
