Last month I photographed the 2nd Annual Rocket City Weather Fest held at the Shelby Center on the UAHuntsville campus.  The event was sponsored by the UAHuntsville chapter of the American Meteorological Society.

To take from their website:

“This event will give the atmospheric and related sciences community an opportunity to educate the public on weather-related phenomena, emphasizing on safety and preparedness, and to showcase scientific research taking place here in Huntsville, AL.”

There were different booths aimed at all ages, informative lectures for adults, and fun and games for the kiddies!

Here are some of my shots from that day, if you didn’t make it out this year be on the lookout next year!

Alll of the lectures!

Filling the weather balloon!

Physics experiments!

NASA goodies!

Outdoor kiddie activities!  Weather themed bean bag toss, face paint, and miniature golf!

Just some of the speakers; Gary Dobbs from WAAY 31, Paige Colburn of Madison County Emergency Management Agency and the keynote speaker – Dr.Greg Forbes of The Weather Channel.

Nick Walker “The Weather Dude”  providing some entertainment.

Mayor Tommy Battle getting ready to release the weather balloon.

A crowd getting a closer look at the Mobile Alabama X-Band Radar.

More activities!

It was a fun day with tons of things to do!

Here are some images from my cotton field couple (and their puppy)- as promised!  I am sooo pleased with these.  We started off with a few in their home – their first house!- and then moved on to the cotton field.  Soooo, here they are!

Holy gorgeousness!  Watch out because these guys are super gorgeous together.  Here are some of my faves!

I just noticed a trend in my faves – they are all vertical!

This shoot was sooo fun!  Probably because I was photographing a friend and fellow photographer.  As photographers we never take the time to have our own photographs taken – so she took some of my husband and I – then I took some of she and her husband!  AND in a place that I have always wanted to have a session in – a cotton field!!!!  They are turning out gorgeous.  I wanted to share this sneak taken in their living room with their precious puppy before we headed to the fields.

Just so ya know – it seems if you want to book a session in a cotton field you better shoot for early October because the week we did these pictures all of the cotton fields were being harvested!

B & W are engaged!  Here is a sneak!

Aren’t they gorgeous?!

Another post!  I’m on a roll guys.  Now if only I can keep it up.  These are some more taken back in July when we were in Gulf Shores for our family vacation.  Nothing better than an evening beach breeze in your hair and sand between your toes!  The B Family can tell ya that!

Take a look at this sweet pineapple upside down cake!  Guess who made it.  ME!!  And it was sooo yummy.  This is actually from my husbands birthday in July.  I am not an icing person so I was more than pleased when the husband requested I make this cake for him.  I was just stumbling through some of my personal pictures and thought I’d share this one with you guys!

Alright, alright!  I’m finally posting some of the A+D wedding images!  I really liked this couple they were young and modern and high school sweethearts just like my husband and I!  They were married at the beautiful Delano Park Rose Garden.  I had driven past it before but it is kind of tucked away and I didn’t even notice it – until this day when I actually had to go into the gardens.  Well, enjoy!

I love photographing the girls getting ready.  My favorite part is the bride putting her eye makeup on for some reason!
